Privacy Policy

How MipTags™ protects your data

1. Our Privacy-First Promise

MipTags™ is privacy-first by design. We collect only what we need to run the platform, we never sell your personal data, and we never share it with data brokers or advertisers.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text) when you register.
  • MipTag content — the profile details, links, photos, and other content you choose to publish on your MipTag pages.
  • Payment information — payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Engagement data — anonymous scan and visit counts on MipTag pages (device type, general location, and source) so owners can see how their Tags perform. This data is not used to track or profile visitors.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the MipTags platform
  • To process purchases, renewals, and withdrawals
  • To send essential service emails such as receipts, expiry reminders, and security notices
  • To protect the platform through fraud prevention and MipTag Digital Defense™ link scanning

4. Search Without Being Followed

Visitors who search for or scan a MipTag are never required to create an account, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors. You can connect without being tracked across the web.

5. AI Features & Your Data

Some features (assistants, ad optimization, marketing content generation, and voice search) are powered by artificial intelligence. Content you submit to these features — including short audio recordings when you use voice search — is processed only to generate your requested response.

Voice search audio processing: When you use voice search, MipTags records a few seconds of audio, sends it to our servers, and transcribes it using a speech-to-text service. The transcript is then interpreted by an AI model to identify your MipTag code. Audio is processed in real time, is not stored long-term, and is deleted immediately after transcription. It is never used to identify or profile you, never sold, and never used for advertising. You can always type your code instead — voice search is entirely optional.

AI content generation: When you use AI-powered assistants or marketing tools, the text you submit is sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not use your submissions to train AI models. Do not submit sensitive personal information (passwords, government IDs, or financial account numbers) to AI features.

6. Session Recording & Replay

We do not use session recording, session replay, or any third-party analytics or error-reporting scripts that read your browser storage or session tokens. We previously used a session-replay tool but removed it after a security review found it could expose session credentials. If we ever reintroduce such a tool, we will disclose it here and ensure it cannot access authentication data.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies — to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, though signing in may stop working if essential cookies are blocked.

8. Sharing With Third Parties

We share data only with service providers required to operate the platform (such as Stripe for payments and our hosting infrastructure), and only the minimum needed. We may disclose information if required by law.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Specific retention periods:

  • Voice search audio — processed in real time, deleted immediately after transcription, never stored.
  • MipTag content — retained while your account is active; removed when you delete your MipTag or account.
  • Engagement data (scans, visits) — retained for the life of the MipTag so owners can view analytics history.
  • Payment records — retained for 7 years as required for tax and legal compliance.
  • Account information — removed when you delete your account via portal settings or the Delete Account page.

You can delete your account at any time from your portal settings or at miptags.com/delete-account, which removes your personal information from the platform. Some records (such as payment history) may be retained where required by law.

10. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account, or by contacting us. Where applicable law grants additional rights (such as data portability or objection to processing), we honor those requests.

11. Children's Privacy

MipTags is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
